By VUKA Group said on Wednesday it has partnered with African Infrastructure Elites to expand the reach of its Project & Investment Network, a platform aimed at connecting African power, energy and water project developers with financiers and investors.
The Project & Investment Network, known as P&IN, was created by VUKA Group to give project owners a venue to present investment opportunities to financiers, utilities, municipalities and commercial and industrial energy users active across the continent, the company said in a statement.
African Infrastructure Elites, an annual initiative run by industry publication ESI Africa, will serve as “Host Media Partner” for the network, according to the statement, giving listed projects additional visibility through what VUKA Group described as one of Africa’s established power, energy and water media platforms.
VUKA Group said the partnership is designed to address a persistent gap in the market, in which viable projects often struggle to secure capital while investors seek credible, well-positioned opportunities to fund.
The network will offer project owners and investors opportunities to engage at a series of VUKA Group events over the coming months, the company said.
A Project & Investment Network Open session is scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Serengeti Golf Club in Johannesburg. The C&I Energy + Storage Summit will follow in Johannesburg on Oct. 28-29, co-located with a commercial and industrial-focused Water Security Africa programme and the EIUG Conference, according to the statement.
VUKA Group also said the network will feature at Enlit Africa and Water Security Africa, two co-located events scheduled for May 11-13, 2027, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Enlit Africa is described by the company as the continent’s largest power, energy and water conference and exhibition, drawing thousands of attendees annually.
Project owners seeking financing or strategic partners can apply to submit projects to the network, while investors can apply to participate, VUKA Group said. The company listed Marcel du Toit as the contact for sponsorship enquiries.
African Infrastructure Elites, published as the “Projects and People Magazine,” recognises projects, executives and innovations across Africa’s power, energy, water and transport sectors, according to ESI Africa.
The platform has profiled work spanning electricity generation, transmission and distribution, water infrastructure, storage, clean energy and transport.
Nominations for the 11th edition of African Infrastructure Elites are open until Oct. 2, 2026, VUKA Group said. The theme for the 2026/27 edition is “Access and Affordability Empowers Security for All,” which the company said reflects the importance of reliable and affordable access to electricity, water, sanitation and transport for economic growth and social wellbeing across the continent.
VUKA Group said association with the Elites programme can help project developers gain visibility among decision-makers, policy influencers and investment stakeholders, while giving investors a vetted view of projects and executives active in the sector.
VUKA Group describes itself as an Africa-focused events and media company that creates in-person and digital platforms connecting industry stakeholders. ESI Africa, the publisher behind African Infrastructure Elites, has operated as a power, energy, water and utility media platform since 1996, according to the company.
The announcement comes as investment interest in African energy and water infrastructure has grown, with governments and private financiers seeking to close funding gaps for power generation, grid expansion and water access projects across the continent.
Industry bodies have repeatedly flagged a shortage of bankable, investment-ready projects as a barrier to mobilising capital for African infrastructure, even as investor appetite for the sector has increased.
